History of India

Man has been in India roughly from 5,00,000 BC. By the end of the 4000 BC, India had emerged as a region of highly developed Indus Valley Civilization noted for its urban planning, baked brick houses, elaborate drainage, and water supply. India has been a home to numerous races including pre-Aryans, Indo-Aryans, Greeks, Scynthians, Huns, Turks etc.  Chronologically, History of India can be classified into three periods –

  • Ancient India ( Till 700 A.D)
  • Medieval India ( 700 A.D to 1857 )
  • Modern India. ( From 1857 )
