Smart Village program aims to develop villages in a way that facilities like cities can be made available to our villages. For 2017-18,  a total of 3169 villages have been selected in the scheme.  Regular cleanliness along with pure drinking water, proper drainage and good roads will be the main concentration area.
Selected villages for Smart Village will include pure drinking water, drainage management, community toilets, public parks and sports grounds, street lighting on rural Gaurav Path and main roads, regular cleaning , Food storage house, e-Library, Wi-Fi facility at Atal Seva Kendra, sub-health center and veterinary center.
Additionally in the smart village, eligible persons will be made available on the basis of housing priority under the Pradhanmantri Awas Yojana (Rural).
