Rajasthan Government, in convergence with Central schemes, has launched several initiatives to support farmers across the entire value chain – from seed to market – under the broader goal of Viksit Rajasthan @2047.
1. Input Support & Production
- Mukhyamantri Beej Swavalamban Yojana: Promotes self-reliance in quality seed production. Farmers produce certified seeds on their fields. 50% subsidy on seeds for small/marginal farmers + free minikits.
- Soil Health Card Scheme & Goverdhan Jaivik Urvarak Yojana: Soil testing and 50% subsidy (max ₹10,000) for vermicompost/organic fertilizer units. Promotes organic farming (target >25% area by 2047).
- Kisan Credit Card (KCC) & Rajasthan Cooperative Gopal Credit Card: Zero-interest short-term crop loans and interest-free loans up to ₹1 lakh for dairy farmers.
2. Risk Mitigation & Insurance
- Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY): Comprehensive crop insurance against natural calamities, pests, and diseases.
3. Technology & Extension Services
- Namo Drone Didi Yojana: 80% subsidy on drones for Women SHGs for precision spraying. Empowers women and reduces input costs.
- Agri Clinics: One in every district for soil testing, crop advisory, and pest management.
- Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF): 3% interest subvention for warehouses, cold storage, and processing units (up to ₹2 crore loan).
4. Post-Harvest Management & Processing
- Pradhan Mantri Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PM-FME): 35% credit-linked capital subsidy (max ₹10 lakh per unit) for individuals and groups. Focus on ODOP products, branding, and common infrastructure.
- Solar Crop Dryers & Cold Storage: Subsidies for reducing post-harvest losses (target: 25–40% reduction).
5. Marketing & Price Assurance
- e-NAM (National Agriculture Market): Rajasthan has integrated ~173 mandis. Enables transparent online trading, better price discovery, and reduced intermediaries.
- RAJFED & KUMS (Krishi Upaj Mandi Samiti): MSP procurement of wheat, pulses, oilseeds; scientific storage and buffer stocking.
- Krishak Uphaar Yojana: Gift coupons and incentives for selling through e-NAM.
6. Capacity Building & Inclusive Development
- Training through Agri Clinics, Pashu/Krishi Sakhis (Rajeevika), and women-led processing centres.
- Special focus on SC/ST, women, and small/marginal farmers.
Beyond farmers, Rajasthan also runs targeted welfare schemes for agricultural labourers and mandi (market) workers, recognising their distinct vulnerabilities in the farm economy.
Major Schemes
- Mukhyamantri Krishak Sathi Sahayata Scheme: Provides financial assistance in case of death or accidents, covering agriculturists, agricultural labourers, and hamals (porters) during agricultural and marketing activities; 1,938 beneficiaries covered with ₹31.06 crore (2025-26, up to December).
- Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Mandi Shramik Kalyan Scheme (launched 2015): For welfare of agricultural produce market labourers; 698 labourers benefited with ₹3.51 crore (2025-26, up to December), through components including:
- Marriage Assistance: ₹75,000 for own/daughter’s marriage — ₹341 lakh to 461 labourers.
- Pregnancy Assistance: 45 days’ wages for licensed women labourers — ₹1.18 lakh to 24 women.
- Medical Assistance: ₹20,000 for serious diseases — ₹1.05 lakh to 6 labourers.
- Scholarship/Merit Award for children scoring 60%+ — ₹7.11 lakh to 181 students.
- Kisan Kaleva Yojana: Provides quality food at subsidised rates in mandis (Super, A, and B class Krishi Upaj Mandi Samities); 18.26 lakh farmers and labourers benefited with ₹5.09 crore expenditure (up to December 2025).
- Rajasthan Agricultural Labourers Empowerment Mission: One of the 12 “Mission Mode” agricultural missions (funded through the ₹5,000 crore Chief Minister’s Krishak Sathi Yojana); provides a ₹5,000 subsidy to families of landless agricultural labourers for purchasing agricultural equipment, helping them participate more productively in farm operations despite owning no land.
- e-Shram Portal: The national database for unorganized workers (including agricultural labourers), seeded with Aadhaar; enables access to social security benefits, employability support, and emergency assistance. 1.52 crore unorganized workers in Rajasthan have registered on the portal (up to December 2025).
- Broader Unorganized-Sector Social Security: Agricultural labourers can also access Atal Pension Yojana (guaranteed pension of ₹1,000-₹5,000/month after age 60), PM Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (132.82 lakh enrolled statewide), and PM Suraksha Bima Yojana (295.26 lakh enrolled statewide) as low-cost life and accident insurance cover.
Farming supports around 85 lakh families and contributes significantly to the state’s GSDP, Rajasthan introduced a separate Agricultural Budget in 2022-23 with a “Mission Mode” approach — 11 initial missions, expanded to 12 missions in the 2023-24 budget — funded through the ₹5,000 crore Chief Minister’s Krishak Sathi Yojana.
