यह पंक्ति महान कवि रामधारी सिंह दिनकर की प्रसिद्ध महाकाव्य रश्मिरथी से ली गई है।

इस पंक्ति में कवि एक बटोही (यात्री) को जीवन की यात्रा के लिए सही दिशा पहचानने की प्रेरणा देते हैं। कवि कहते हैं कि जीवन की राह को किताबों या लिखी हुई योजनाओं से नहीं पहचाना जा सकता। इसके लिए हमें अपने अनुभव और विवेक से निर्णय लेना होगा। यह संदेश हमें बताता है कि हर व्यक्ति को अपने जीवन के उद्देश्य और मार्ग को खुद समझना होगा, क्योंकि कोई पहले से तय रास्ता या लिखित ज्ञान उसकी पूरी सहायता नहीं कर सकता।

यह पंक्ति हमारे जीवन के संघर्षों और कठिनाइयों के बीच आत्मनिर्भर बनने का संदेश देती है। कवि बताते हैं कि जो व्यक्ति अपने अनुभव से सीखता है और चुनौतियों का सामना करते हुए आगे बढ़ता है, वही सच्चे अर्थों में सफल होता है। उदाहरण के लिए, महाभारत में अर्जुन को भी युद्ध के समय यह समझना पड़ा कि धर्म और कर्तव्य के मार्ग पर कैसे चला जाए। कृष्ण के उपदेशों से अर्जुन ने अपने जीवन के उद्देश्य और कर्तव्य को पहचाना और युद्ध में सफलता पाई।
