  • Red Corridor to be redrawn by Union Govt.
  • What is Red Corridor: Areas affected by Left Wing Extremism (LWE).Red Corridor
    • Where: 106 districts spanning across 10 States — Bihar, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Telangana, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
    • In NEWS: Union Government is going to take out 20 such districts from 106, to be out red corridor.
  • Bioremediation:
    • An environment-friendly mechanism that uses microorganisms to degrade environmental pollutants.

    • Prepare guidelines for desiltation of Ganga River from Bhimgauda (Uttarakhand) to Farakka (West Bengal).
    • Establish need for desilting for ecology and e-flow of the river Ganga.
    • Establish difference between desilting and sand mining.
  • Legendary modern Indian artist Syed Haider Raza passed away in New Delhi following a prolonged illness. Awarded Padam Shri.
