Nishulk Annapurna Food Packet Scheme

On August 15, 2023, Chief Minister Mr. Ashok Gehlot inaugurated the Chief Minister’s Nishulk Annapurna Food Packet Scheme in the state. Under this scheme, more than 104 million families in the state will be provided with free Annapurna food packets every month.

The food items provided in the Nishulk Annapurna food packet, distributed through point-of-sale machines will include:

  • One kilogram of chana dal
  • One kilogram of sugar and iodised salt
  • one litre soybean refined edible oil
  • 100-100 grams of chili powder and coriander powder
  • 50 grams of turmeric powder

Main points related to Food Packet Scheme:

  • Families receiving economic assistance during COVID will also receive free ration kits.
  • During the COVID period, a survey was conducted for vulnerable families, and around 3.2 million NFSA (National Food Security Act) and Non-NFSA families were given financial assistance of 5,500 rupees. The Non-NFSA families that received economic assistance during COVID will also be provided with free ration kits under the Annapurna Ration Kit Scheme.
  • Towards realising the resolution of ‘No One Sleeps Hungry’, this Annapurna Food Packet will be given free through PoS machine.
  • The commission for ration dealers for the distribution of Annapurna food packets has been increased from 4 rupees to 10 rupees per packet.
  • In the state, it has been announced that ration dealers will be given commission based on the telescopic rate and that no fee will be charged from ration dealers for the POS (point-of-sale) machines.
