Rajasthan imposes Section 144 in 11 districts in view of Covid-19

On 19th September 2020, the Rajasthan State government decided to impose Section 144 of the CrPC in 11 districts of the state on concern over the rising number of coronavirus cases in Rajasthan. Section 144 of the CrPC prohibits an assembly of more than five persons at a place. 

The decisions was taken in a review meeting chaired by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, where Health Minister Raghu Shrma, Chief Secretary Rajeeva Swarup, Principal Secretary (Home) Abhay Kumar, Principal Secretary (Medical and Health) Akhil Arora and other officials were also present in the meeting.

As per the release, it was decided to impose Section 144 of the CrPC in:

  1. Jaipur,
  2. Jodhpur,
  3. Kota,
  4. Ajmer,
  5. Alwar,
  6. Bhilwara,
  7. Bikaner,
  8. Udaipur,
  9. Sikar,View Post
  10. Pali and
  11. Nagaur,

People will have to wear masks and follow social distancing norms.
